IDifference between MCP and Skill

1. What is MCP?

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is a set of open protocols that allow AI applications to connect to external data and tools. Once MCP is connected, users command the AI Agent in natural language to call MCP tools and capabilities to search and obtain AppGrowing's rich global mobile ad creatives and delivery data.

In shortMCP is a connector that can call many data and API interfaces at the same time. MCP is like an Agent's hand, helping the Agent to easily grasp the data outside.

2. Relationship between MCP and Skill

A Skill is usually a set of instructions, rules, and calling processes for AI agents to use tools — it often also includes the flow that guides the AI to call MCP.

To help you understand the agent/skill/mcp collaboration mode more vividly, I use the scenario of "Chef + Recipe" as an example:
MCP and Skill relationship
Fig. 1 MCP provides capabilities; Skill teaches AI how to use them

MCP = kitchen utensils and ingredients, providing various basic abilities; Skill = recipe, which tells you what ingredients to use and in what order to make them.

For example:

MCP: egg, flour, milk, oven  ·  Skill: Cake Making Method

For AppGrowing:

MCP: Creative Data, launch data, competition data, market data  ·  Skill: Explosions Creative Analysis Method

In a word:

AppGrowing MCP tells AI "what data is there" and Skill tells AI "how to call data and use data for effective insight".
💡 MCP and Skill are not substitutes for each other and can be used in combination:
  1. MCP is responsible for connecting AppGrowing's capabilities to AI Agents.
  2. The Skill is responsible for helping the Agent understand the user's needs and choose the right Tool.
  3. The MCP Tool is responsible for searching data and returning it.
  4. The AI Agent analyzes the returned data, integrates the output, and keeps the session context for follow-up questions.

For example, the user said "analyze the trend of creative for SLG games in the US market in the past 30 days":

  • MCP is responsible for enabling the AI Agent to call AppGrowing's creative analysis tools.
  • Skill is responsible for identifying what data is passed to MCP for conditions such as "US market, SLG, nearly 30 days, trend analysis", and teaching AI how to use the data for analysis.
  • The MCP Tool is responsible for searching the data and returning it.
  • The AI Agent analyzes the returned data and integrates the output, saving the session context for subsequent follow-up questions.

IIBasic Information of AppGrowing MCP

2.1 What tools does AppGrowing MCP have now?

MCP now exposes 21 tools, grouped by purpose into four modules: Creative Retrieval & Selling Points (5, see table below), Charts Intelligence (3), App Advertising Analysis (11) and Publisher & Developer Intelligence (2), plus Basic Tools (1). Creative retrieval & selling points is our core and differentiating capability (🔥 a 300,000+ dynamic creative selling-point lexicon); the charts, ad-analysis and publisher modules let your Agent trace the full path from "who is advertising, and how much" to "which creative, and why it works".

2.2 🔥 The Most Unique Capability of AppGrowing MCP — Creative Selling-Point System

AppGrowing MCP not only provides creative search "Know What", but also the ability to understand creatives "Know Why". AppGrowing has turned the "creative selling point" into an operational asset, which can be directly used for creative mining and creative strategy analysis, greatly reducing the time for dismantling creatives.
HierarchyToolCapabilityExample
① Picture elementssearchAdCreatives.resourceElementInline return of screen element labels (with description)Realistic style, 3D, cartoon characters, science-fiction style, real person
② Selling-point screeningsearchAdCreatives.marketingWordFilter creatives by 🔥300,000+ creative selling-point wordsHigh-saturation effect color, easy decompression, overlooking lens, sense of achievement, fragmentary time
③ Selling-point trendcreativeSellingPointTrendsSelling-point word trend list (sorted by creatives / ads / popularity)Find the recent hottest selling-point words Top N of a category

Up to now, the selling-point lexicon returned by creativeSellingPointTrends in AppGrowing MCP has exceeded 300,000+ — and unlike a fixed tag system, AppGrowing's creative selling points are automatically identified from massive creatives through AI algorithms: the lexicon updates dynamically and continuously generates new creative selling points.

Covering visual style (high-saturation effect color / warm-tone main tone), lens language (medium-scene close-up / overhead angle), audience motivation (casual players / sense of achievement / easy decompression), scene layout (beautiful life scene / vertical list layout), etc. — the granularity is extremely fine.

In the picture element creative.resourceElement[].description, each label carries a genuinely informative judgment-caliber description that tells you why the label is tagged this way. For example:

Tag NameDescription (judgment caliber)
Cartoon charactersJapanese-style anime or domestic anime-based character types, excluding anthropomorphic animals (such as Monkey King / Pig).
3DCharacters and objects have no black/thin line stroke, the light and shadow effect is obvious, and the overlapping part of the object has no stroke to count as 3D. Mixed types do not count.
Anime styleSources include Japanese-Korean style (Eastern) and European-American style (Western) animation. Pictures are divided into Q-version cute style and Japanese / European-American cartoon animation as representative animation images.
Realistic style3D modeling style, vivid picture (including extremely simulated people and objects) with powerful light and shadow effects, common in games such as Dynasty Warriors, NBA2K, FIFA, etc.
European and American styleEurope / North America / South America and other historical & modern unique elements, common in medieval armor, castles, western cowboys, American uncles, etc.
Real sceneReal-world scenes appear in the creative, such as offices, seaside, cars, etc.
Real personA real natural person or a highly realistic CG character.
Minimalist styleThe picture is simple, generally no more than three elements, and the elements are flat — common in Stickman games.
Pixel styleImage processing with pixel style, emphasizing clear outlines, bright colors, granular pixels composing a unique picture style.
AnimalsCattle, horses, sheep and other poultry / animals.

2.3 Tool Parameter Details

IIIConfiguration and Calling of AppGrowing MCP

3.1 How to configure AppGrowing MCP

Copy the following command and enter it directly in the Agent dialog box for the Agent to execute. Replace the API Key 🔑 Get API Key in the command with your own API Key — you can find it in "Personal Center → Enterprise Information". accept-language can be replaced with your language: zh for Chinese, en for English.

Install the MCP:
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "AppGrowing-Global-MCP": {
      "url": "https://api-appgrowing-global.youcloud.com/mcp",
      "headers": {
        "Authorization": "Bearer API Key",
        "accept-language": "zh"
      }
    }
  }
}

Wait for the installation to be completed and try to call the dialog. If a result is returned, the configuration is successful.

✨ Access demo — take Codex as an example
  1. Enter the command and send it to Codex
  2. Codex writes the MCP configuration into its config file
  3. Test whether the MCP connection is normal. If a normal result is returned, the MCP service connection is successful.

3.2 Calling MCP via Natural Language

After normal access, users do not need to provide parameters — directly use natural language to describe the target, scope and analysis focus. You can refer to the following typical call examples.

When calling MCP in natural language, it is recommended to explicitly state how many creatives to search in the prompt, to minimize MCP cost and prevent the Agent from over-calling creative-search tools and burning too many credits.

The MCP tool layer truncates data returned into the Agent context, so large creative batches may not be returned in full. If you need to pull a large volume of creatives, use a script to call the MCP endpoint directly and save the response as JSON files in the workspace instead of letting the data flow back into the Agent context; the Agent reads the JSON files when needed. A script example is provided in FAQ-Q2.

IVAppGrowing MCP Basic Use Cases

C1Explosive Creative Inspiration + Selling-Point Positioning

Demand: Find the rising creative direction in a certain category and lock in what selling points to play.

💬 Example PromptI am looking for high-impression video creatives for RPG categories in the US and Japanese markets from July to August 2026. First help me see what the mainstream selling words in this category are, then around the two selling points of 'character formation' and 'plot', pull the TOP 20 creatives by impressions, and output the creative ID, copywriting slogan and creative detail-page link of each one.
C2Benchmark / Competitor App Creative Inquiry

Requirement: Lock a competitor App and disassemble its recent creative play and launch intensity.

💬 Example PromptHelp me disassemble the competitor App (app name / package name XXX) buying creatives on all media in the last 90 days, and pull the TOP 30 video creatives sorted by delivery days. And parse the first 10 resource original films into downloadable links, convenient for me to review one by one.
C3Localized Remake Creative Case Extraction

Requirement: Collect referable original films in batches for the target market and remake them for the localization team.

💬 Example PromptI want to give the team a reference for the localization of the Japanese-market action App. Filter out the action creatives with narration placed on the Japanese market, and take TOP 15 by the number of similar creatives. Then parse all 15 picture/video resources into the latest download links and package them for me.
C4Creative Selling-Point Theme Scanning

Requirement: Scan the current mainstream selling-point themes of a category and the heat of their creatives to guide creative topics.

💬 Example PromptScan the most mainstream creative selling themes of strategy game Apps currently in Southeast Asia. First list the selling points of the category, then search the selling points one by one, count the creative volume under each selling point and the high-exposure representative creatives, and output the list of 'selling point → creative volume → TOP3 reference link'.
C5Differentiated Collection by Channel / Format

Demand: Compare the creative style differences of the same category across different channels / formats.

💬 Example PromptCompare the best-performing casual game creatives on TikTok and Meta in the North American market. Screen the casual game ads of the TikTok and Meta channels in North America respectively, and take the 15 videos with the highest impressions from each. And parse the download links of the creatives on both sides, easy to compare the creative styles of the two platforms.
C6New-Market Cold-Start Creative Benchmark

Demand: Before entering a new market, pull the benchmark creatives of the same category in that market for cold-start reference.

💬 Example PromptWe are going to enter the Brazilian market with a tool App. Take the TOP 20 benchmark creatives with the highest impressions in Brazil's tools category in the past 60 days and the recent creative selling points of Brazil's tools category as a cold-start reference, and parse the first 10 download links.

VAdvanced Use Scenarios

How well AppGrowing MCP works inside your workflow depends on 3 factors:

  • The capability of the Agent
  • The smartness of the underlying LLM
  • The quality of your Prompt and Skill

Most people stumble on Prompt and Skill — a good Prompt and Skill decide the quality of the task. As said earlier: to cook a great dish (a deep advertising insight), besides ingredients and utensils (MCP), what really matters is the recipe that teaches you to cook (Skill).

Besides recommending the 📘 AggClaw Skill, we also encourage you to weave MCP into your own business scenarios and workflows, write your dedicated Skills, and turn MCP data into unique insights and automated efficiency gains.

S1Timed Report of Single-Product Creative Strategy Analysis

Business goal: Automatically produce a weekly creative strategy briefing for a certain product: take stock of the creatives being cast, identify the rising selling points, and give suggestions on the creative direction for next week. Suitable for scheduled tasks (e.g. 9:00 every Monday). filterOptions & creativeAIAnalysisData to lock dimensions → searchAdCreatives (campaign_name advanced search + selling-point filtering).

User-Triggered Prompt Reference:

# AGG Single Product Creative Strategy Report

## Overview
AGG-MCP × Skill × Automation **single-scenario** analysis skill. It takes a normalized creative data set for a given product, converted into a structured **single-product creative strategy diagnostic report** (new scenario "F · Single-Product Creative Strategy Report"). Unlike "agg-category-report" (category level, cross-product), this skill only focuses on **one product** and does an in-depth physical examination of creative assets. This skill is decoupled from the MCP fetching layer: it consumes the `CreativeRecord[]` that is pulled and normalized by the MCP/orchestration layer in advance (recommended to use `searchDsl.campaign_name` to lock a single product), and does not call any tools by itself.

## When to call
- Single product creative review / own product creative health diagnosis (manual or Automation).
- Do a deep disassembly of one competitor (rather than a side-by-side comparison across competitors, which uses "agg-competitor-compare").
- Users ask questions such as "systematically diagnose the creative playing methods of our XX game in the past month, which should be added, changed, and cut" and "deeply dismantle competitor YY's creative strategy in Japan".

**Don't** use it to fetch data. If the `CreativeRecord` dataset is not available, run AGG-MCP first (filterOptions + creativeAIAnalysisData to lock dimensions → use `searchDsl.campaign_name` to lock a single product and pull searchAdCreatives, preferably covering multiple time slices), then return to this skill.

## Core Workflow
1. **Load contract**: Read `references/data_contract.md`, confirm required fields (`app_name`, `selling_points`, `format`, `ratio`, `language`, `impression`, `similar_cnt`, `advertising_days`, `max_dt`; ≥20 items in the product window).
2. **Issue analysis prompt**: Copy `references/analysis_prompt.md` and replace `<DATASET_SUMMARY>` / `<PARAMS>` (product name, region, time window), execute it.
3. **Apply deterministic rules** (see below, strictly as such):
   - **Creative engine activity**: total amount, number of new window items, `new_ratio`, and median of advertising_days.
   - **Selling-point focus**: TOP1 selling-point percentage; ≥40% judged "focused", <20% judged "scattered".
   - **TOP creatives**: impression / similar_cnt each take TOP5, mark "benchmark creative".
   - **Creative life cycle**: advertising_days distribution → distinguish evergreen (long cast) vs short-lived creatives; recession signal = few recent new items and old creatives still dominant.
   - **Disposal recommendations in three categories**: amplify (high performance and still worth casting), iterate (mediocre performance but form/selling points can be optimized), eliminate (low performance, long cast or declined).
4. **Delivery by envelope**: Fixed envelope (conclusion → evidence → recommendation → boundary). Recommendations given in "amplify / iterate / eliminate" three columns, each corresponding to specific creatives or selling points.
5. **Processing gaps**: When the sample is insufficient or a dimension is missing, only omit the corresponding subsection and mark at the boundary; no estimation allowed.

## Input/Output Contract (Abstract)
- **Input**: the `CreativeRecord[]` of a single product (time slices recommended to view evolution). Optionally with the same-category baseline for deviation comparison.
- **Output**: fixed-envelope Markdown insight block. Numbers must be calculated from the data set; if not available, write "insufficient data".

## Boundary Statement (key — must inform stakeholders)
This analysis uses **creative-side proxy metrics** (creative magnitude, similarity, exposure proxy, delivery days). It **is not** real delivery magnitude / consumption data (the latter requires `adVolumeTrends` / `regionOverview`). Each deliverable must be marked with: *"This analysis is based on creative-side proxy metrics, not true delivery magnitude."*

Automated Task Prompt Reference:

⏰ Automation PromptOn the 1st of each month, call the agg-single-product-report skill: first use AGG-MCP filterOptions and creativeSellingPointTrends to lock the dimensions, then use searchAdCreatives with searchDsl.campaign_name to lock the target product (e.g. XX Game) and pull the creatives of the past 30 days (including this-month / last-month slices). Call the agg-single-product-report Skill to diagnose its creative engine activity (total / new-up ratio / median delivery days), selling-point focus (TOP1 ratio), TOP creatives (impression / similar_cnt each TOP5), creative life cycle and recession signal; output the product creative strategy diagnostic report HTML and push it to me.

# AGG Competitor Creative Strategy Comparison

## Overview
Analysis skill for **single scenarios** within the AGG-MCP × Skill × Automation framework. It takes the normalized multi-competitor creative data set and converts it into a **competitor creative strategy comparison** report ready for the weekly meeting (scenario "A · Competitor launch strategy comparison push"). This skill is decoupled from the MCP fetching layer: it consumes the `CreativeRecord[]` pulled and normalized by the MCP/orchestration layer in advance; it does not call any tools by itself.

## When to Call
- Scheduled competitor-monitoring weekly push (Automation), used to synchronize intelligence before UA / buying weekly meetings.
- Users ask to compare competitors' creative buying methods, e.g. "Compare competitors XX and YY's buying methods in North America SLG: who is more radical? What selling points does each emphasize? What are the channel and form differences?"
- Any task that requires a side-by-side comparison of creative gestures for ≥2 competitors, rather than a single-brand perspective.

**Do not** use it to retrieve data. If there is no `CreativeRecord` data set, run AGG-MCP first (filterOptions → use `searchDsl.campaign_name` to pull searchAdCreatives for each competitor), then return to this skill.

## Core Workflow
1. **Load Contract**: Read `references/data_contract.md` and confirm the input matches the schema and this skill's required fields (`app_name`, `advertising_days`, `selling_points`, `media`, `format`, `language`, `similar_cnt`; at least 1 competitor ≥10 records).
2. **Issue the analysis prompt**: Copy `references/analysis_prompt.md`, replace `<DATASET_SUMMARY>` / `<PARAMS>` (competitor list, time window, target region), and execute it.
3. **Apply deterministic classification**: Compute `new_ratio = new-in-window count / total` per competitor; classify by hard rules — adding party `new_ratio ≥ 0.40` or highest absolute new count in the set; changing party `0.15 ≤ new_ratio < 0.40` with newer creatives; keeping party `new_ratio < 0.15`. Strictly follow this and do not invent categories.
4. **Delivery by envelope**: Wrap the output in the fixed envelope of `references/data_contract.md` (conclusion → evidence table → suggestion → boundary). Evidence table columns: "Competitor | Total | New ratio | Main media/format | TOP selling point | Classification". Give exactly 3 follow-up suggestions for our side.
5. **Processing gaps**: When a competitor's sample is below the lower limit, still output based on existing data and mark it in the boundary; no estimation allowed.

## Input/Output Contract (Summary)
- **Input**: `dict[app_name, CreativeRecord[]]` or flat `CreativeRecord[]` with `app_name`.
- **Output**: a fixed-envelope Markdown insight block. Numbers must be calculated from the data set; if unavailable, write "insufficient data".

## Boundary Statement (key — must be communicated to stakeholders)
This analysis uses creative-side proxy metrics (creative magnitude, new-launch rhythm, media/format/language ratios). It **is not** real delivery magnitude / consumption data (the latter requires `adVolumeTrends` / `regionOverview`, not in the current MVP). Each deliverable must be labeled: *"This analysis is based on creative-side proxy metrics and does not reflect actual ad-spend levels."*

Automation Task Prompt Reference:

⏰ Automation PromptAt 09:00 every Monday, call the agg-competitor-compare skill. For the competitor Apps (A/B/C) in the monitoring list, call AGG-MCP searchAdCreatives respectively: use searchDsl to lock each App by campaign_name, time window of the past 7 days, sorted by delivery days (cnt_dt_desc), each pulling TOP 30 creatives. Then horizontally compare their creative magnitude, selling-point word distribution, media and form ratios, and new-launch rhythm; output the competitor launch-strategy weekly report (HTML + executable recommendations) and push notifications to users.

S3Regular Summary Analysis of Category Creative Selling Points

Business goal: Not focused on a single product, but summarizing the selling-point trend of an entire category (e.g. 4X SLG), answering "what selling points are popular in this category now" to provide a basis for new-product projects / creative direction.

Tool chain:filterOptions (take category) → creativeSellingPointTrends (filter by category) → searchAdCreatives (pull sample verification by Top selling points)

User-Triggered Prompt Reference:

# AGG Category Selling-Point Trend Summary

## Overview
Analysis skill for **single scenarios** within the AGG-MCP × Skill × Automation framework. It converts two time-sliced category data sets into a structured **selling-point trend summary** (scenario "C · Category creative selling-point trend summary"). This skill is decoupled from the MCP fetch layer: it consumes the normalized `CreativeRecord[]` pulled in advance by the MCP/orchestration layer and sliced in time; it does not invoke any tools itself.

## When to Call
- Scheduled monthly trend briefing (Automation), used before creative topic selection.
- Users ask for selling-point heat trends, such as "last month's cross-border e-commerce selling-point trends: which are rising and which are falling? What should we push next month".
- Any task that needs to compare the changes of a category's selling-point pattern across two cycles.

**Do not** use it to retrieve data. If there is no data set, first run creativeSellingPointTrends (list all selling points) → searchAdCreatives for this category this month and last month respectively, then return to this skill.

## Core Workflow
1. **Load the contract**: Read `references/data_contract.md`, confirm required fields (`selling_points` and `impression` must cover **two** slices; ≥2 slices with ≥20 items each).
2. **Generate the analysis prompt**: Copy `references/analysis_prompt.md`, replace `<DATASET_SUMMARY>` / `<PARAMS>` (category, two slice definitions), and execute it.
3. **Apply deterministic labels**: Compute month-on-month creative-volume and ranking changes per selling point. Emerging selling point = growth ≥50% and last month's base <20; declining selling point = decline ≥30%. Combine emerging selling points with high-base steady-growth selling points to rank P0/P1/P2 priorities. Strictly follow the thresholds.
4. **Delivery by envelope**: Fixed envelope (conclusion → evidence table → recommendation → boundary). Evidence table columns: "Selling point | Last-month volume | This-month volume | Month-on-month | Ranking change | Label".
5. **Processing gaps**: When a slice is below the lower limit, still output based on existing data and mark at the boundary; missing slices cannot be estimated.

## Input/Output Contract (Summary)
- **Input**: category selling-point data grouped by two time slices (this month / last month).
- **Output**: a fixed-envelope Markdown insight block. Numbers must be calculated from the data set; if unavailable, write "insufficient data".

## Boundary Statement (key — must be communicated to stakeholders)
This analysis uses **creative-side proxy metrics** (creative volume, exposure proxy). It is not real delivery-level data (the latter requires `adVolumeTrends`). Each deliverable must be labeled: *"This analysis is based on creative-side proxy metrics and does not reflect actual ad-spend levels."*

Automation Task Prompt Reference:

⏰ Automation PromptOn the 1st of each month, call the agg-sellingpoint-trend skill. Call AGG-MCP creativeSellingPointTrends to list all selling points of the target category, then use searchAdCreatives to retrieve this-month and last-month data respectively for each selling point, and gather statistics on creative volume and exposure per selling point. Compute the change of selling-point popularity ranking, identify emerging and declining selling points, and output two HTML reports: the category selling-point trend monthly report and next month's creative topic-selection guide.

# AGG Region × Media Creative Ecosystem Analysis

## Overview
Analysis skill for **single scenarios** within the AGG-MCP × Skill × Automation framework. It takes (region, media) cross-grouped creative datasets and turns them into a structured **region × media creative ecosystem analysis** (scenario "D · Region and media delivery strategy analysis"). This skill is decoupled from the MCP fetching layer: it consumes the normalized `CreativeRecord[]` pulled and tagged by the MCP/orchestration layer in advance; it does not invoke any tools itself.

## When to Call
- Scheduled quarterly media budget review, or one-time analysis before entering a new market (Automation / manual).
- Users ask for region/media creative differences and budget inclination, such as "entering Latin America, analyzing Brazil/Mexico creative differences on TikTok and Meta — how should the budget be tilted".
- Any task that requires a region × media creative map rather than a single-channel perspective.

**Do not** use it to retrieve data. If there is no data set, run filterOptions (area codes / media IDs) → cross searchAdCreatives by area × media, then return to this skill.

## Core Workflow
1. **Load the contract**: Read `references/data_contract.md`, confirm required fields (`region`, `media`, `format`, `selling_points`, `advertising_days`; ≥3 (region, media) units with ≥5 items each).
2. **Generate the analysis prompt**: Copy `references/analysis_prompt.md`, replace `<DATASET_SUMMARY>` / `<PARAMS>` (region set, media set, time window), and execute it.
3. **Apply deterministic rules**: For each (region, media) unit output creative volume / form share / TOP selling points; channel concentration — a media's share within a region ≥50% marked "highly concentrated", otherwise "scattered"; creative style differences — qualitative description based on each media's format/language/selling_points combination; budget priority + risk (e.g. a highly homogenized channel → recommend differentiation or cost reduction).
4. **Delivery by envelope**: Standard envelope (conclusion → evidence → recommendations → boundaries). Units with sample <5 marked "insufficient sample" at the boundary.
5. **Processing gaps**: For missing units only omit that unit and enumerate at the boundary; no imputation.

## Input/Output Contract (Summary)
- **Input**: `CreativeRecord[]` with `region` and `media` tags (can be crossed).
- **Output**: a fixed-envelope Markdown insight block. Numbers must be calculated from the data set; if unavailable, write "insufficient data".

## Boundary Statement (key — must be communicated to stakeholders)
This analysis uses **creative-side proxy metrics** (creative magnitude, form/media/language percentages). It is not real delivery-level / consumption or media cost data (the latter requires `adVolumeTrends` / `regionOverview` / media APIs). Each deliverable must be labeled: *"This analysis is based on creative-side proxy metrics and does not reflect actual ad-spend levels."*

Automation Task Prompt Reference:

⏰ Automation PromptAt the beginning of each quarter, call the agg-region-media skill. First use AGG-MCP filterOptions to confirm the target area codes and media ID list, then use searchAdCreatives to cross-search by region × media combinations (past 90 days), gathering statistics on creative volume, main forms and TOP selling points of each combination. Draw a "region × media creative ecosystem map", point out channel concentration and creative style differences per region, output media budget priority recommendations, and push.

# AGG Viral Creative Monitoring & Early Warning

## Overview
Analysis skill for **single scenarios** within the AGG-MCP × Skill × Automation framework. It converts the "new-creative set + baseline" into a **viral-creative alert** decision (scenario "E · Latest viral creative monitoring alert"). This skill is decoupled from the MCP fetching layer: it consumes normalized `CreativeRecord[]` (new creatives + baseline) pulled in advance by the MCP/orchestration layer, and does not call any tools or download creatives itself.

## When to Call
- Scheduled daily / high-frequency conditional monitoring tasks (Automation). Silence shall be maintained when there is no signal.
- Users ask to keep an eye on sudden viral creatives or new selling-point plays, e.g. "keep an eye on whether Japan RPG has any sudden viral creatives in the past two days, remind me if there are".
- Any task where the correct output when there is no signal should be "no anomaly" rather than fabricated insight.

**Don't** use it to fetch data or download creatives. The MCP layer is responsible for fetching; after a hit the MCP layer resolves `creativeResourceUrl`. If there is no data set, run searchAdCreatives (isNew=1, order=max_dt_desc, limited category/region) + 7-day baseline first, then return to this skill.

## Core Workflow
1. **Load Contract**: Read `references/data_contract.md`, confirm required fields (`creative_id`, `similar_cnt`, `impression`, `selling_points`, `media`, `max_dt`, `app_name`, `is_new`; baseline ≥7 days history; current window ≥1 item).
2. **Generate the analysis prompt**: Copy `references/analysis_prompt.md`, replace `<DATASET_SUMMARY>` / `<PARAMS>` (category, region, monitoring window), and execute it.
3. **Calculate the baseline first**: Take the P95 of `similar_cnt` and the median of `impression` per media over the past 7 days. If the baseline is <7 days → directly return "no anomaly (baseline under 7 days, no alert)" and stop.
4. **Apply three hard gates (alert on any hit)**: ① single `similar_cnt` > baseline P95; ② `impression` ≥ 3× the median of the same window and media (or day-on-day ≥200% if a time series exists); ③ the same `selling_points` delivered by ≥3 independent `app_name`s within 48h. **No relaxation allowed**.
5. **Delivery**: When hit — envelope with Headline = signal type; evidence table columns "Creative ID + detail-page link | Selling point | Main casting channel | Signal type"; recommended actions: follow-cast / avoid-pit / disassemble. When no gate is hit — return **only** "no anomaly", never fabricate signals.

## Input/Output Contract (Summary)
- **Input**: "new-creative `CreativeRecord[]`" + "≥7-day baseline" with consistent shapes.
- **Output**: either "no anomaly" (or the baseline-insufficient variant), or a fixed-envelope alert Markdown block.

## Boundary Statement (key — must be communicated to stakeholders)
This analysis uses creative-side proxy metrics (similar count, exposure proxy, selling-point co-delivery). It **is not** actual campaign volume data (the latter requires `adVolumeTrends`). When an alert is triggered, it must be marked: *"This alert is based on creative-side proxy metrics, not real delivery levels."*

Automation Task Prompt Reference:

⏰ Automation PromptAt 08:00 every day, call the agg-viral-alert skill and call AGG-MCP searchAdCreatives (isNew=1, order=max_dt_desc, limited to target category and region) to pull new creatives of the past 24 hours, compared against the baseline of the past 7 days. Identify viral signals: a sudden increase in similar-creative counts, a sudden exposure increase, or multiple competitors simultaneously following the same selling point. Only when a signal is hit, use creativeResourceUrl to parse the representative creative's original film and push an early-warning notification via DingTalk (including creative detail-page link, selling point, channel, signal type). No signal, no notification.

VIFAQ

Q1Why is AppGrowing MCP more suitable for creative strategy analysis?
The key lies in the three-tier selling-point word system, which is industry-unique:
  • ① Picture elements — with descriptions and value: know how a label is tagged
  • ② Selling-point screening — a 300,000+ dynamic lexicon; AI automatically creates new selling points and discovers emerging trends
  • ③ Selling-point trend — directly see a category's recent Top10 selling points sorted by heat, letting you know 'why it is hot', not just 'what exists'
We not only 'Know What' but also 'Know Why' — so AppGrowing MCP is more suitable for creative strategy analysis.
Q2How many pieces of data does AppGrowing MCP return at a time?
100 creatives per page, up to 100 pages. Because the MCP tool layer truncates data returned into the Agent context, large creative batches may not be returned in full. If you need to pull a large volume of creatives, use a script to call the MCP endpoint directly and save the data to your working directory (Python script example below).

URL = 'https://api-appgrowing-global.youcloud.com/mcp'

def mcp_call(name, args, timeout=90, retries=3):
    payload = json.dumps({'jsonrpc':'2.0','id':1,'method':'tools/call',
        'params':{'name':name,'arguments':args}}).encode()
    req = urllib.request.Request(URL, data=payload, method='POST', headers={
        'Content-Type':'application/json',
        'Accept':'application/json, text/event-stream',
        'accept-language':'zh',
        'Authorization': f'Bearer {API_KEY}'})
    ctx = ssl.create_default_context()
    with urllib.request.urlopen(req, timeout=timeout, context=ctx) as resp:
        raw = resp.read().decode('utf-8')

    return json.loads(raw)

def parse(resp):
    return json.loads(resp.get('result',{}).get('content',[{}])[0].get('text','{}'))

# Example: search high-impression card-game creatives in the Japan market
inner = parse(mcp_call('searchAdCreatives', {
    'purpose': 1,
    'order': 'impression_inc_2y_desc',
    'startDate': '2026-07-10', 'endDate': '2026-08-10',
    'page': 1,

    'area': ['JP'],
}))
ml = inner['data']['materialList']
print(f'total={ml["total"]}')
for item in ml['data'][:5]:
    m = item['material']
    game = (m['campaign'][0]['name'] if m.get('campaign') else '?')
    print(f'  {game} | {m.get("impression_inc_2y")} | {(m.get("creative") or {}).get("slogan","")[:40]}')
Q3AppGrowing MCP now exposes 21 tools — why should I choose it?
Because we did not start by piling up numbers — we first made "creative analysis" thorough: the core creative and selling-point module already covers 90% of creative-analysis requirements, and only then did we extend outward with chart intelligence, brand delivery analysis and publisher intelligence, so that every tool solves a practical problem. One of them, creativeSellingPointTrends (the selling-point trend list), is the only tool that can answer "why is this selling point popular recently". AppGrowing MCP therefore spans the full path from "who is advertising" to "why a creative works", while keeping depth that other sources cannot provide.
Q4After using AppGrowing MCP, do I still need to log in to AppGrowing?
Daily analysis can usually be done directly in the MCP-capable AI client. You may still need to log in to AppGrowing Global for first-time use, obtaining API Keys, viewing full platform reports, managing permissions, and handling account issues.
Q5Why is the MCP Server connected but AI still does not call AppGrowing?
Possible causes include:
  • MCP Tools were not successfully discovered by the client
  • The user request does not clearly express the intent to search or analyze creatives
  • The Agent's tool-call permission is disabled
  • Skill or system instructions are not loaded correctly
  • Tool descriptions have compatibility issues with the current Agent
You can check the Tool list first, then send a clear request such as "query SLG advertising creatives in the US market in the past 7 days" for testing. If it still fails, contact the business representative assigned to you.
Q6How to handle authentication failure?
Check whether the API Key is fully copied, activated or expired, whether the environment variable name is correct, whether the account plan has permissions, and whether the MCP Server uses the correct authentication method. If it still cannot be resolved, contact the business representative assigned to you.
Q7Does MCP support continuous questioning?
It is recommended to ask follow-up questions within the same conversation. If you switch to a new conversation, you need to restate your requirements.
Q8Is MCP's data source consistent with the AI strategy analysis on the AppGrowing Global platform?
MCP calls the same data source; MCP is only responsible for finding data. Specific analysis results depend on your Agent and the LLM's comprehension ability, as well as the quality of the Prompt and Skill. If you want the same analysis results as AppGrowing, pair it with the AggClaw Skill.
Q9Can AppGrowing MCP be used to automatically generate creatives?
The core capability of AppGrowing MCP is ad-creative search and creative selling-point refinement. It can provide the data basis for scripts, storyboards, creative briefs and delivery analysis reports. Whether pictures, videos or other content can be directly generated depends on the other models and automation tools connected.
